Embark on a Journey of Healing
and Transformation with the STAR Training

Picture
Embark on a Journey of Healing and Transformation with the STAR Training!

Life can be deeply impacted by traumas. When our inner peace is often stolen during times of stress and trauma, and the longing for restoration becomes paramount.

The Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience (STAR) Training is not just a program; it's a transformative experience that delves into understanding the intricate effects of trauma on our brains and bodies. More importantly, it offers a path towards healing and justice. Revenge, often mistaken for justice, perpetuates a cycle of suffering—transforming victims into offenders and creating more victims in its wake.

But STAR offers a different approach. It equips us with powerful tools rooted in restorative justice principles, empowering us to break free from the shackles of revenge, heal our trauma, and reconnect meaningfully with others. This training doesn't just stop at individual empowerment; it extends to communities and organizations, fostering agents of positive change across diverse spheres.

This five-day evidence-based, multicultural training blends neurobiology, trauma healing, resilience, restorative justice, nonviolent conflict transformation, and spirituality. It's not limited by personal, educational, or professional backgrounds—making it inclusive and accessible to everyone seeking transformation.

Developed at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy, STAR has garnered a 21-year track record of national and international success. Rooted in an inclusive multicultural and multi-faith perspective, STAR continues to create a profound collective impact within diverse communities worldwide.

The STAR Training isn't just about healing individual and community traumas; it's about imparting resilience strategies that pave the way for sustained engagement, healing, and reconciliation.

By the end of this transformative journey, participants will:
  • Understand various forms of psychological trauma and  learn negative and positive responses to trauma and how these relate it to individual, community, and societal history.
  • Recognize the interplay between unhealed trauma and cycles of victimhood and violence within within individual, community, and society’s contexts.
  • Embrace STAR's strategic trauma healing model, analyze it in the model in light of one's own experiences, and identify ways to integrate strategies into one's own spheres of influence.
  • Identify practical ways to foster resilience, guiding individuals and groups through their trauma healing journeys.
